Default Cats and hearing aids

My hearing's getting worse. Hearing aids are one possible solution.

If you use them, what can you say about your cat(s) and how they
deal with them?

Thanks,

Harv

...how they deal with them?

My mom has a hearing aid and I doubt her cat, Zoe, knows about it. She keeps it in it's box in her dresser when she's not using it and that's about it...

Is that what you're asking?

Some cats may be attracted to the scent of ear wax which may accumulate on the aid. It is very important to make sure that you properly clean and store your aid to avoid the cat from accidentally finding it, biting, licking, and playing with it as they may think it is a toy.

Pretty much that kind of stuff.
Thanks MowMow.

Excellent! Those are the kind of details I'd never think of (until it's too late).

Thanks!

Of the last 30 or so years I've been with cats, I've had problem with only one cat. She used to steal my hearing aids. I don't know if she hated the noise or just viewed it as play thing. She passed away more than 20 years ago though. I keep mine in a wooden jewelery box (which also has silica gel to help dry hearing aids) No cat can get to it.

Thanks. Keeping them away from the cats is clearly a good idea.
