Default Cat drinking out of the same glass?

I keep a glass of water by my bed. Recently, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw my cat drinking out of my glass. Are there any parasites that I should be looking out for? This may have been going on for weeks.

No, nothing dangerous.

I used to get grossed out by this but it happens so frequently I just got used to it!

Cheers,
Dr. Jean

Won't hurt you. Assumpta feels obligated to check out whetever we're drinking to make sure it's tasty (she loves lemonade, BTW). Just another method of supervising the humans.

If it really icks you out, you can buy one of those childrens' sippy-cups so that the cat can't get to your water (and if the cat happens to knock the glass off the nightstand, it'll minimize spillage).

I have learned to live with drinks that have been investigated by my cat. His favourite is trying to catch the ice cubes in a glass My very stuck up friend was horrified when I gave her a glass of coke and Cleveland poked his paw in it! Isn't it strange the things you shrug off when you have a cat.

My cats always drink from my glasses. I have gotten into the habit of leaving the bathroom glass full of water. When I wake up in the morning and take my medicine there is always at least on of them waiting for me to finish so they can have the water

I'm trying not to think of that! The night before last and last night my Blueberry decided the kitchen was too far to walk for a drink. I woke up hearing him lapping up my glass of water. Fortunately, I remembered not to take a drink. However, who knows how many times I didn't catch the cats.

The paw in the glass is so funny. When my son was home we used to watch a good movie with dinner, including milk. He soon learned not to put his glass on the floor!

I am not worried about it since I know my cats and the environment we live in (I am cleanig everything very often) - we share bacteria everyday anyway plus a little won't hurt. My mother would probably be shocked of what has become of her daughter

My cat Magic is hilarious with the water in a cup thing. There is a cup of water sitting on the ledge beside our bed, and every night when I am reading he casually walks up to it, drinks out of it, looks at me and walks away. EVERY NIGHT. So I keep topping it up for him. It is the funniest thing ever.
