Default Black cats part Siamese

Once I read that black cats are part Siamese ?? Or might have a Siamese someplace way back in their ancestry...does anybody else heard of that? Thanks!

Someone on this forum once said something about two black cats having Siamese kittens...who was that?? Anyway, we've been told one of our black cats is part Siamese. He TOTALLY has the personality of a Siamese!! He cries like they do and is VERY VERY needy and people oriented. He always wants to be near us and take part in all we do. His favorite right now is helping me type Speak of the devil…he just jumped up in my lap and is pulling my hands away from the key board with his paws as I type this.

That was me! Yep, two coal-black parents, 3 Siamese kittens! All gorgeous! And all, by the end of the day, spayed and neutered--whew!

I forget how the genetics works but many, if not most, black cats seem to have Siamese somewhere in the not-so-distant past.

Cheers,
Dr. Jean

Vienna my cat has siamese in her. Her mother was a tonkinese, which is a cross between a burmese and a siamese (yet it is still recognised as a pure breed :\)
vienna has the face of a siamese and definatly the voice of one, and she is black.

I always wonder what I would have gotten if Stormy and Justin had kittens. All very hypothetical of course, since I did the responsable thing and got Stormy spayed and Justin was neutered when I got him.

That would make sense. Clover has the Siamese personality! Very vocal, always wants to be around us, and played fetch as a kitten! She's also a very small kitty.

But Jasper, our other black cat, is a 21-pound longhair. So I doubt he's got any Siamese in him.

I see !! This is so interesting..so that a slim, shorthair, with the characteristic voice and personality of a Siamese black cat could have that background whereas a sturdy, longhair (or mix), etc, black cat wouldn't..
In thinking of b cts I've known that's what they were like..since my experience isn't purebreeds, I'm not aware of much about their genetics, etc. Fascinating, thank-you very much.
Reminds me of the Bucky cat (see my quote) cartoon; that the owner said Bucky was part Siamese, part chain-saw (if I ever told you this line in another posting please forgive my redundancy..I'm fond of it)

You know, that's something I heard (don't remember where) about 7 or more years ago, that black cats have siamese somewhere in them. Though I never knew if it was true or not

I don't really talk about it often cause I don't like going around spreading possible untruths hee hee.

My sister had a black cat that had a Siamese kitten.

But I heard that all black cats were tabbies.
