All this week I've been laying down the minute I get home from work, only getting up to eat/use the facilities/feed the kitties. The reason is I'm recovering from being sick. Teddy has been my constant companion. Curled up under the covers with me more often than not. Leo has been near by but usually curled up, on top of the covers by my feet.
Well, last night, while I was laying down, Leo hopped up up on the bed and started insistantly meowing at me I started petting him and pulling and playing with his tail as he likes me to and he started to kneed the bed and headbutt me in the ribs and armpits as I pet him. He was purring like a motor boat the whole time. After about 3 minutes of this, he would hop down only to return 15 minutes later to do it all over again. He even trusted me enough to climb under the covers with me for 30 seconds. My patience with him is really paying off. I'm even able to approach him from a standing position and pet him now! Though, he still does flinch a bit when I reach down. But still, amazing progress.
