The 5 month olds kittens may be capable of siring, and should be neutered ASAP. Kitties can be neutered/spayed as young as 4 mos. old. I do hope you will be a responsible pet owner, and not allow her to have another litter. There are already cats and kittens waiting in rescues and shelters to be adopted. Please don't add to the already homeless cat overpopulation!

I agree that kittens can be neutered at two pounds. That is much smaller than your boys are, I'm sure. Find a another vet who will do it ASAP. Start calling around.

Keep the males and the female apart - I'd lock someone in a room - where there is a female in heat, and males in the house, they will find a way.....
