Saturday I went and purchased a new watch.
Every morning when I get up I put my glasses and watch on the desk next to the computer. Last week when I went to put them on, my watch was missing. I looked under the desk. Under the chair. Under the recliner in the study. Even took a yard stick and swiped under the refrigerator just outside the door of the study. So - because it drives me NUTS not to have a watch on my wrist, I went and purchased a cheapie at Kohls. Monday morning I found the old watch under my computer chair. GABRIEL!!!!! If something can be swiped, he will do it. Oh well. The new watch is a nice alternative some days.

I got a good laugh from that, too.
But surely, not Gabriel! He doesn't look the type. Why if he was human I might even be convinced to buy a used car from him. Alternative post: What a meanie you are, you went and stole his new toy.

Mine steals paper. If I eat and crumple up a napkin and throw it on the plate on the coffee table, he doesn't care if there's a big juicy steak still on the plate. He'll daintily step around any food and pluck the napkin off the plate and run off. It's adorable. I'm torn between stopping him and watching him do it.
I find mystery shreds all over the house if I'm not careful about paper products. Sent from my iPhone using Petguide.com Free App |

That's too funny- at least now you have a backup watch in case he wants to borrow it again!
One of my cats likes to steal the tv remote. I don't know if she doesn't like the shows I watch or if she just likes the feel of the rubbery buttons when she smooshes her face against them |

I never found the watch that Holly swiped the first week I had her (and that was 6 years ago).
Maggie lifted $4 off the kitchen counter last night. Good thing I saw her do it because by the time I got up it had been batted under the couch. You'd think that at age 16 she would stop playing!

Jim, I love your alternative post idea!
Some cats are just natural thieves. Gabe will steal almost anything. He swipes grapes all the time. He doesn't want to eat it, he just wants to take it. Last week my husband was emptying individually wrapped cough drops on to the bed. Gabe snuck up, grapped a cough drop and ran like he11 ! He knows he is a thief and he is laughing at us!
