Do your cats play nurse when you're sick? I had a really bad cold ,and of course instead of taking it easy, resting at home, I was all over town Christmas shopping. So, Wedensday I wound up clocking out early, dragging myself back home to collapse into bed. Robin never left my side. He slept in my bed-which he never does-he wasn't noisy,he'd check on me at all hours,I'd wake up to a cat in my face! Now I'm better and he's back to his normal self. What a kittoh...

Both my boys are great nursemaids. MowMow always lays super close and purrs constantly. This past week I was on some major heavy duty antibiotics and was throwing up a LOT. I missed a few days of work and Book was so sweet. He'd get up and follow me to the bathroom each time (although it may have been fascination that food was exiting a place it usually enters). Then when I'd brush my teeth and lay back down he's groom my arms/hands/ and face (if I let him).
They are more quiet than usual (although that might be because I'm a lot grouchier about noise when I'm sick) and just seem to understand that I need gentler care then. |

I'm recovering from having my thyroid out a little over a week ago. My cats have been watching over me since I came home. They follow me everywhere and when I'm laying down want to be right near my face. They are laying on top of each other for this position. Absolutely adorable. Even Mia who is a semi lover, lap cat has been by me the whole time. They truely are companion cats.

When I was about 11, I had a problem that was eventually diagnosed as abdominal migraine after a lot of more serious things were eliminated. At the time, we had a huge, almost entirely feral black cat who virtually never left me - he'd rush downstairs to be let out to toilet and then come straight back in (sometimes via the bedroom window). This was not normal behaviour for him by a long way, but he was my constant companion and comfort.

I adopted Artie in March. At the end of April, I developed a bad case of asthmatic bronchitis. I was sick and with out a voice for a month.. Artie never left my side.. He was always with me. When I was lying down on the couch he was with me. When I started coughing, he just jumped down, waited and then returned.
This July, when I broke my arm and could not sleep in bed. He stayed with me. Artie was always on my lap when I was in the recliner. He stayed with me constantly....Once he realized I could not play with him, he was my constant companion...

Yuki knows when I'm sick or have a migraine. She stays close to me on the bed and is even more cuddly than usual. Sometimes she doesnt cuddle but just reaches out a paw to touch me or gently pat my face. When I had a long term relationship end a couple of years ago she would sit or lay on me whenever possible. That's what I call a loving friend
