New Cat & Battle Grounds

Simple Story, with two problems....

The Cats:
1. "Angel" when she was 8 weeks old, shes now 8yrs old

2. "Cali" Got her when she was 7 from a friend, she is now 15

3. "Casper" when he was 2 weeks old (we think he was being moved by his mom which they were near a road but she ended up leaving him, so we bottle feed and all that good stuff etc) Hes now 6yrs

4. "Sandy" Got her about 9 months old, shes 10 months now (watching tv one night and she jumped on our screen and hung there, we went and got her and have had her since. We found out she has 5 other brothers and sisters. Sandy also has feline herpes, her right eye was closed and all gooey when she jumped on the screen, shes been placed on viralys 100gm now)

Issue one:

Angel is a grouch, she has been since she was a kitten, she is a runt, but has been VERY well treated and is very healthy. She will come up to you and act like she wants pet and if you touch her she will scratch and hiss at you. She also hisses at Casper, when we got Casper she picked on him a lot. Now Casper is twice her size (not fat) and if she hisses or anything at him he will pop her one. She can be playful but for about a minute then shes like "HMPTH" type attitude. The vet is thinking about putting her on meds but says its give or take as to whether it will work. So whats yall experience on this stuff?

Issue two:

Since Sandy joined our home. My Loving Casper has suddenly turned into a trouble maker, He has not bee treated ANY different, still sits with me, and gets played with the same. Sandy has all her own stuff cat box and food dishes and water etc. We slowly worked her into the house but he will not accept her. There was a bad fight between her and him two days ago, she has been bathed and been to the Vet for shots, She gets Spayed in a week. She has not been in heat (thank god). I don't expect them to be all cuddly and loving to each other (as none of our cats do that to each other) but I would like them to at least get along better then they do. What else can we do? Anyone got some ideas?

P.S. Sorry this is so long.

With Issue One, what medication is the vet suggesting and why? Mood altering?

A month isn't all that long - don't give up hope!
