Default I think StinkerBella is in heat

I think my cat is in heat. She is crouching real low and purring a lot. Walking around low to the ground. There is a cat meowing at the door. I am just wondering if there is anything I can do to make her feel more comfortable? My parents won't allow me to take her to the vet until after Christmas.

Be very careful not to let her out or any male in.

Some cats like to be rubbed just behind the tail when in season - there's a theory that it helps them finish ovulating a bit quicker but I have no real idea whether that is true or not.

Some cats when they are in heat will mark territorially so just be aware of that as well.

You may find that some vets prefer not to operate until a season has finished anyway.

Good luck.

She sounds to me like she is in heat, and yes don't let her outside, or you will likely have a pregnant cat. Males can smell a female in heat even with the windows and doors closed, so she will have some suitors hanging around outside for sure, and likely spraying on your door or windows. She may stay in heat for 7-12 days, but it is better to have her spayed after her heat cycle has passed. Some vets charge extra if the cat is in heat.

We kept her in the garage and didn't let her out. Pulled out all the cars out in the driveway so we didn't risk letting her out. Dad and Mom said we can call the vet tomorrow and see what we should do. She is semi feral. I am hoping we can get everything done at once spay, shots and everything done all at once. Because I am affraid once we let her go we won't let her go again we won't ever see her again. Thanks for the advice. Merry Christmas.

Yay, Merry Christmas StinkerBella! After her surgery you'll need to keep her locked up for about 10 days to 2 weeks so she can get fully healed up. If you let her out as soon as she gets home, she'll run a risk of infection and you won't be able to monitor her incision if she stops coming around. Glad she's getting snipped soon!
