Found puppy

I am not sure if this is the right place for this, but this is what is going on. Yesterday, the boys found a tiny puppy in the middle of the road, they almost ran over her. So they brought her home. No microchip, but looks like it is somebody's lost Christmas present. I put an ad on Craiglist, filed a report at the pound, put flyers up, etc. of course, Winston, is not happy about it (growling, and hissing at first, now he glare from a distance). Nyska, does not mind too much, Cabbit, really does not care at all. The puppy is confined to a puppy playpen with a crate, blanket, etc. when nobody is with her. I hope we can find her owners but sadly in our area is not uncommon for dump puppies to fend for themselves. Any ideas on making it easier for Winston, hopefully it is just for a few days, but it may be long term.

The owner saw the flyers and came to get the puppy. I am happy for her but I do miss the little dog! Winston on the other hand, could not be happier.

Did you suggest they put on a collar with an ID tag and/or get it microchipped?

Any back story on how the pup got itself lost on a road?

At least you did the right thing and the owners must have cared enough to collect their dog. Hopefully they will keep a better eye on it from now on.

I'm so glad you found the puppys home. I almost ran over a dog in the rain the other day. I took it by a cat friends house and she knew where it lived. I pressed the point when I took the dog back as to why it didn't have a tag on it collar and why they weren't out looking for it? The boy said it was his grandmothers dog. I made him walk out in the rain to my car to get the dog so he could see it was soaking wet and how it feels to be in the rain.

Did the people tell you how the puppy got out? Id be interested in the back story too. Bless you for helping this puppy. He probably would of been a goner if you hadnt picked him up.

The puppy was a Christmas present for an 8 year old boy. He put the pup in the yard for a bit and did not check to see if the gate was closed or not. It just happened day after Christmas so I guess the family had not have time to get him a chip or a tag with her info on it. when the boy's Mom came to pick her up, she was really appreciative and even told me I could come visit the pup anytime. Hopefully, the boy learned his lesson and the puppy is safe from now on. She was the cutest little thing. It looks like a MinPin Chihuahua cross.
