the first cat i ever had is the only one who ever watched tv, but i also think the tv is up too high for them to get to it so they don't care. i used to throw dried bread out on the patio and shut the glass doors and call it cat television when the pigeons and sparrows came.
then someone gave me a cat tv DVD so i played it on the computer for them but i don't know where it went. |

most of the time no, but our now past tinker cat went crazy when the prehistoric squirrel from the movie ice age was chattering about at the movies start..

Neither of my cats has ever showed much interest in what's on tv. They might glance at it but not even animal shows or shows about cats hold they're interest very long. With on exception...
It must of been some time last year I was watching a nature documentary about lions. Sassy was sitting beside me on the arm of my chair when I noticed she was staring intently at the tv. She watched the lions for about half an hour, until the end of the show, then neatly hopped down to go about her business. I've tried watching lions and other big cats several times since then, but I can't seem to get her to pay attention like she did that one time. Dunno why she found those lions so interesting! |

Ritz had no interest in the DVDs made for cats. She prefers watching 'live action' shows--looking out the window to see the squirrels, chipmunks and occasional fox/deer.
And she has little interest in television. Strangely, if she hears a telephone ring or baby cry noise coming from the television set, she gets scared. If she is still on my lap, she makes a movement to get off and hide until I reassure her. |
