Hello,
I'm new to the forum. I have questions about my kitty, so I'm hoping to get some input from more experienced cat owners! I'm going to look for the correct forum to post those in, but just in case someone is interested and has an answer, here's the gist: I took my best friend's pure bread Siberian cat after she passed away. I've had him for about 6 months now. He's an AWESOME cat, and I love having him. Lately (as in, the past month or so), he's been biting a lot. It seems that he wants attention, but when I try to pet him, he just looks angry, and often walks away from me. His water and food bowls aren't empty. Why does he keep biting me?? My husband and I did move from a 3 bedroom house in suburbs to a 1 bedroom apt in a large city... could the smaller space be what is making him mad? Last edited by marie73; 01-10-2013 at 12:28 AM. There are more knowledgeable people here than me, but it's possible that he's feeling restless, maybe bored, in the smaller space. Do you have a cat tree or condo or something that would give him some vertical space to play in?

ooooo - a biter!!??? Could be several reasons, pain for one and the first one that comes to mind. Second could be play - you are wise to watch his face and ears for clues but from what you described I'll bet it's not that. You don't say how old kitty is. Get him vet checked for sure to rule out medical issues. I would not waste any time. I don't know if the move did it or not - my gut says not. Animals just want to be with their people and a move to a different place in itself does not seem to matter after awhile. Now, if this is a recent move and the place is filled with other animal smells from previous owners that may trigger some reaction, but I think you really need to rule out a medical problem. The problem might be physical not mental. I hope others chime in and I'm curious how this pans out so keep us posted.
Best wishes and welcome to the forum!
