leaky litterbox issues

My name is emily and I'm new here,but I've got a question, my sweet Lucy lu pees in the back of her box and it's always leaking out, I put trash bags under the box but it still gets on the floor, HELP,what can I do?????

It sounds like she's peeing over the edge. Perhaps you need a higher sided box? Is she older? If she has joint pain it may hurt to squat right down. ... unless you think the box has a hole in it somewhere or a crack.

If you live in the states, Petco carries very nice high sided litter boxes, or you can make one from a storage tote. Just cut an access in the front (about 4" wide). You can go to Amazon and query for "high side litter boxes". They also make a top entrance litter box but again, you can make one from a storage tote. My Polly is an "elevator butt" and will raise her butt up over 12 inches as she pees so I have to put puppy pee pads in the back of the high sided box and around the sides!
