Default why does my kitten do this...

every night and everymorning my kitten cuddles up real close to me and tries to touch her nose to mine... once she gets comfortable and is sure that her nose is touching mine... she will procede to lick my nose and will open her mouth and gently put her teeth on the tip of my nose... why does she do this... i dont mind it so much if it wernt for the wiskers tickling me... and her ruff tounge while shes licking me... but its kind of weird and annoying at five in the morning... just wondering if any of yalls cats have done this... and if not... have they done similar... if they have does anyone know why? i dont want to discourage her from doing this if this is some way for her to tell me she loves me... but if shes just trying to eat my nose then how do i get her to stop... shes done this since i brought her home from the shelter... almost four months now... why does my kitten do this???

You should feel honoured. This means that she loves you and accepts you as belonging together with her. Cats that know each other do this to one another frequently. This is a sign of affirmation and affection. Don't wory, your kitty isn't trying to bite your nose off and the rough tongue certainly beats a slobbery doggy tongue
it seems that your shelter cat has really taken to you and feels comfortable with you enough to be this 'intimate'. Congratulations- hope you stay great friends for life.

Awwww that is so cute. Could be worse, could be a tongue up your nose. I experienced that once with Cleveland and hope I never experience it again

yeah my cat does it all the time. That's how she wakes me up in the morning. She never bites my nose tho. Only licks it. And if I rub my nose on hers *like eskimo kisses* she will lick my nose.

Sometimes Sugar will try to wake me by licking my nose and tickling me with her whiskers. I give her kisses back but one good thing is, her breath doesn't smell like Twinkie's. She doesn't have "Tuna" breath

Aint it great to be owned by a cat. I had a cat in highschool that nibbled on my ear. this way. She would also hug me. Put her front legs around my neck and rest her head on my shoulder.

My cat lucifur does it too, however, she might also try to lick my eyelids if they are shut..This is cute, but the feeling is a little freaky, so I mostly move slightly when she does this. Obviously careful not to hurt her feelings.

Our newest, Saffy, is the nose biter/licker, and Stimpy likes to lie on your neck. Preferably jumping up from the floor when you´re standing. This was qute when he was little, but he is getting a bit on the big side for this now.

When he was a tiny kitten, he once settled comfortably on my head, proceeding to lick my hair and kneed, claws and all, my forehead. We weren´t ment to keep him, but when they do things like that, how can you give them away?
