Default how to tell if they are happy?

with a dog, you can tell if its happy usually by how they wag their tails. but i was told tht if a cat is wagging its tail, they are pissed off. if that is true, how do you tell if the cat is happy

i've never heard a cat purr when they are playing, and they seem happy, or when they chase something around the house

Cats also purr if they are frightened or stressed but you can tell the difference by looking at their expression. It's easy to tell when a cat is pi**ed off by the look of total disgust on its face. Both my cats kind of shake their tail when they are really happy and it points straight up in the air.

Default How to tell if they're happy.

With my cat, he wags his tail when he's happy. Not as dangerous as if a dog were to do it but he still does. You can usually tell when they're angry because they won't want anything to do with you. and will usually try to bite or claw when you pet them

My cats wag their tail and look happy. When Twinkie eats, his tail is wagging all over, when Sugar has her toys she's wagging back and forth too

My cat starts rubbing her cheeks against tings and sometimes she purrs. Most of the time, I know if she's happy when she wants to play and starts running around the house with her toys.

When my cats are happy, they will usually be purring, rubbing themselves against something,or stick their tail in the air and kind of sway it side to side.Usually if their ears are up strait and they appear to have a happy expression on,they are happy.
