Actually my cats talk to me all the time
Especially Buddha, but the others too. If I talk to them, they talk back. Or if the want something, like being loved or food.

My bluepoint Siamese says "Ma." He also says "Hmmm?" Of course Siamese are very talkative, but recently he started doing the "silent meow, which I love. His "sister' recently had surgery and is isolated, so he's been crying almost non-stop for two days. Maybe he's giving his vocal cords a rest! I know my ears are ready for a rest. He's sleeping now, and the silence is overwhelming!

hehe my cat has different meows... like when Ben picks him up when he doesn't want to be... Ben's a bit daft, and seems to think Mog likes being picked up by him, and likes to say "awww you love me don't you mog?" and Mog goes "Neooooooow" hehe I find it the cutest thing ever he also says "ow" when he's upset, and "mip" if you say chicken to him

My big orange cat Fawkes talks so much that if he wasn't the complete opposite of a siamese in appearance I would wonder! He talks all the time, and if he hears me talk he comes running. I can no longer have a conversation on the phone without him sitting beside me meowing people are beginning to wonder what I am doing to him! It's nice to always know where he is though as all I have to do is say "Fawkes" and he starts yowling!

My oldest cat answers when you say his name, but ONLY if he's doing something he's not supposed to be. He loves playing with my bead boxes and ripping apart paper... whenever we catch him doing those things and say his name he turns and says m'ow in an adorable voice... he knows he was caught ~laughs~

So far I've learned that "mauwa" means "water". Every time my Eti wants to drink water in the bathroom she makes this special meow. Cute

Luna talks. She lived up to her name FOR SURE! "Hi Luna" "Meow" "How are your day?" "Meow". a full conversation!

My other cat, Max, on the other hand... NEVER meows. VERY occasionally, he lets one out. If he wants something or displeased with something, he'll let out an alley cat meow

My little guy, Schnitz, always answers with a meow when I talk to him. He AACK, AACK, AACK's when he wants to play and he squeeks softly when is he happy and snuggly.

His mother, Squirrel, is a little quieter. But most times she will respond if she is certain I am talking to her and not Schnitz. She does not have the wide vocabulary that Schnitz does.

Somehow they both know which of the two I am talking to.
