I knew I'd seen a "how to" on syringe feeding somewhere

Jennifer, thank you for that link.

I had been having trouble with the syringe 'sticking' and then releasing all of a sudden and filling poor Malibu's mouth! I'll try the oil tonight before the next feeding.

GREAT NEWS!
First, Ma'bu 'trilled' at me when I came into the bedroom and spoke to her.
Second, Ma'bu ATE some dry food!

When we took her to the vet last Wed, the vet office keeps samples for you to take home in the waiting room and I picked up two bags. I sae them in my purse today and opened them for the house kitties and took a small handful to Malibu and she ate about a dozen little kibbles!
I want to get another bag at the vet tomorrow, just for Malibu.

Third, Malibu was very happy to let me pet her for about a half hour before our nap today. She stood and turned for me to pet all sides, purred and lifted her rump/tail to let me know she was enjoying the attention.
I'm very glad to see these signs of improvement.

I also ordered Eukanuba's vet diet canned food. It has twice the protein and fat of the Hills.
...gotta go, hubby wants to find something on the 'puter.

Default Great

That is great news. Very happy to hear. I think she's on her way to a healthy recovery.

I think so, too. I just need to get her to the point of eating on her own and putting the weight back on.

BTW, I gave up on my two syringes. They are just sticking too badly. I oiled the plunger and it still stuck. I oiled the plunger and the syringe body, and it still stuck. I oiled and wiped excess off both plunger and syringe body, and it still stuck. I tried letting them air dry seperated, and they STILL stuck!
I'm going to p/u new syringes at the vet office tomorrow. Tonight I used four 3cc syringes. I actually felt they were easier...I was able to get smaller amounts into Malibu's mouth and she spit out less. Maybe I'll ask for 3-4 5cc or several 10cc syringes. I try to get 12-15cc fed to her per feeding.
