Is it safe to use the tear stain removing products available at most pet stores? I am concerned because I want to use it on the cheek area where the tears have dripped down & stained the fur, but I am worried about any adverse reactions my cat may have when he licks it off. Any help is appreciated!

I'm sure the products are designed to be safe... but not all products are. I'd do some research on whatever it is that you're planning ot use.
a side note - I've heard adding a bit of apple cider vinegar to either food or the drinking water helps decrease tear stains

I have heard of something called angel eyes which helps keep them from staining. Apparently the dyes used in foods is what causes this!
Here's the link. let me know if it works if you try it. Deb http://www.angelseyesonline.com/details.htm |
