I just wanted to post my review and experience with the Solid Gold SeaMeal powder. I had noticed a few months back that my cat seemed to be shedding a lot. She was coughing up hairballs about once or twice every two weeks.
Her coat didn't seem as soft or shiny, and had become quite coarse.
I decided to get the SeaMeal powder to add to her wet food. I had read raving reviews on it, but was very skeptical. She doesn't like wet food all that much unless it's Fancy Feast, and with the SeaMeal in it, she definitely wouldn't go near it. I was really disheartened, since I thought I was going to be stuck with a whole container that cost me $24. But then I started adding it to her dry food with some water, and she would reluctantly eat it.
Now I just add it to her dry food without the water, which works well too, although it doesn't stick to the kibbles too well. I don't think she's crazy about the taste of it, but she loves her dry kibbles so much, that she tolerates it.
After just a few days (I think about 3 or 4), her coat became very soft and shiny once again, and she hardly sheds compared to before. She's only had a hairball once in about 2 months since then!!
I hope this post is helpful to some.
