It's time to get more food for Stormy. I usually buy Wellness canned from Petfooddirect. However, they've gone up in price, I can't find a good online coupon code AND I've been reading some people online saying that Wellness changed something in their food and many cats are turning their noses up at it. Stormy is already finicky as it is, so I'm not willing to spend big bucks on cases of food and then have her not eat it.
Any suggestions for wet foods, especially local? (Petsmart, Petco) I called the small non-chain pet food store around here but they only sell food in 5.5 oz cans, which is not economical. I mostly want to avoid the by-products etc. I'm not sure what is carried in Petsmart, Petco these days, so maybe they have something decent? If not, maybe something else on Petfooddirect? Seems like I saw something that looked pretty good at Kroger or Walmart (I was suprised) one time but I don't remember.

I haven't had much luck with the few healthy foods at Petco and Petsmart other than Wellness, but there's a healthy pet food store somewhat close to me where I buy Evo in large cans. Do you have a Fruitful Yield near you? They sell a brand called PetGuard that my girls absolutely LOVE, and you can get it in bigger cans. I rotate amongst Evo, Wellness and PetGuard in the big cans, and Weruva in the smaller ones because the girls just beg for it.

I just added a 20% off coupon code to the Petfooddirect Sticky in Cat Chat.
Haven't heard any reports here about Wellness issues...nobody here has said anything and I have an order that I received about 5 weeks ago and no issues with my crew. Although I'm sure PFD has a big warehouse full of stuff that takes a while to work through. Seems to me that you'd be better off going to a local store and buying a few cans of Wellness and if they don't turn up their nose, then go ahead and order. You'd have to do the same thing with any new food you try, you wouldn't want to just buy a case not knowing if they like it. If you're looking for 13oz cans, you don't have many choices, I think Diana covered it...

I called my local Petco and they are discontinuing the 13 oz cans of Wellness for cats.
I'm going to order a couple cases through Petfooddirect and hope they are okay. Thanks doodlebug for the tip on the coupon code! That really does help out quite a bit!

Do you have a Trader Joe's near you? We give Murphy Trader Joe's chicken and turkey dinner, which is decent quality food at only 59 cents a 5.5-ounce can. Unfortunately you can't order it online, so I just make trips there once a month and stock up.

Not sure if you've looked, but IF there's a healthy pet food store anywhere within an hour's drive of where you live it's worth it to go there every few months and stock up. The one I go to is a 45 minute drive from my house, but since I only go there about once every two months it's worth it.
