Default Relativily healthy and tasty treats?

I'm getting a two month old kitten soon and looking for some good treats. I have friends that use Temptations and others that use Pounce. The lady at Petsmart recommended Greenies as a better alternative to Temptations.

What's your opinion on treats? What do your's get?

My girls like Greenies, but I've used Pounce as their bedtime treats for months and months. Recently, I forgot to stock up and had to buy Temptations, and for the first time EVER, Cinderella lines up with the rest of the girls for their treat toss at bedtime. She LOVES them.

As far as nutrition, I'll be honest. I don't really care, because it's just a treat.

I don't feed treats at all. I don't want my animals begging for handouts, and they know when they get their meals.

However, if I were to feed treats, I'd make my own with fresh meat and a dehydrator. No additives, no sugar, no salt, no garbage. Just good, healthy, feline nutrition.

Halo makes a great dehydrated chicken treat. I think it's called Liv-a-little. Just plain freeze dried chicken. Nothing else. But insanely expensive.
I know my friend cat loved Kitty Caviar.
I would chose Greenies over Temptations or Pounce. Total yummy garbage. Like Ding-Dongs or Twinkies for kitties.

Oddly enough, even though my girls love their healthy food, they don't care for healthy treats. I guess being bad for you is why they're treats, right? I've tried a couple of the very expensive 'healthy' treats, only to end up throwing them out when they dry out because the girls won't eat them. I don't give treats very often, mostly as a reward for being social when guests are over, so I don't worry about the nutritional value or lack thereof. In a week where we don't have anyone over, they might not get any treats, and if we do have people over they might end up with a dozen treats in a week. That's still not very much, so I just give them the Pounce treats that they love.

If you're going to be feeding high quality food and not giving out a ton of treats, just use whatever treats the kitten prefers. It's easier to give medicine if they learn that they're going to get a delicious junk food treat afterwards!
