Spaying cats changing attitude?

Well my first female was the sweetest cat I had at the time. as soon as I got her spayed, she wanted nothing to do with people. it lasted for 2 years before she was stolen. Now my kitten is at the age where she can be spayed, but i'm worried, is it common to change a females attitude negativly when you spay them?

No, that's not common, but it is common for kittens to change their attitude and behavior as they mature into adults. If your first female was a kitten (less than a year old) when you had her spayed, chances are that she just matured into a less overtly friendly adult.

It's also possible, if she had been allowed to come into heat before spaying, that she was extra "friendly" more b/c she was horny than otherwise. Best to have them spayed prior to ever having a heat cycle (3-5 mos is fine).

she was about a year and a half old, but it wasnt only when she was in heat that she was friendly it was all the time untill she was spayed, then she completely changed.

If not bred, many female cats stay in an almost constant low-grade heat.
