Default First Shots

So, I just thought of this, but I don't believe my friend brings their kittens/cats in for shots.

Although they have never appeared to have any sick cats or anything, I should bring Charmander in for shots when he arrives right? He'd be 8ish weeks old when we get him.

Price isn't an issue, but any idea on cost? Just curious.

Thanks!

Pricing can vary a lot from area to area and vet to vet, so call around to your area vets and animal shelters for pricing on vaccinations. While you've got them on the phone, ask about their recommended vaccination schedules for kittens. They can tell you what to vaccinate for and when.

Just make sure the vet gives shots in different locations to avoid cancer (carsinoma). Can't remember what it is called but I asked my vet about it and they said they give shots in different locations to avoid this cancer. Ask your vet about this before giving shots.

Giving shots in different locations doesn't prevent cancer. The reason for administering different shots in different locations is so that the riskier vaccinations (those more strongly associated with injection site sarcoma) can be administered in spots that allow for easier tumor excision or limb amputation, should cancer occur.
