well my mom decided to tell me in facebook that my cat in the usa is dieing. I keep telling her to take her to the vet but well she just ignores it. This is so frustrating. She tells me last night she went to brush her teeth and precious was laying on the ground not moving. so she picked her up and she still wouldn't move. Finally she did, my mom found bloody eye gunk in her like the spot you get eye boogers. she says she has her on the bed and the cat keeps falling off so shes putting her in the bathroom so she can't crawl under the bed where they can't get her. she says shes in her litterbox now and passing away...I am so frustrated and torn. I keep asking why won't she take her to the vet but she says they are closed and she finally just said all they are going to do is put her to sleep and she doesn't want that...so she just wants her to die in her litterbox???? UGH I had that cat since I was like 8 years old...

I'm sorry, what you're going through is tough. Can your mom take the poor kitty to the vet in the morning when it's open? Is there an emergency animal hospital? From your description, it seems like the cat is suffering and needs to be seen by a vet as soon as possible. You have to keep urging your mom to get the cat to a vet. I assume you have internet access so maybe you can look up vets that are open in your city? Like emergency clinics.

Your Mom should at least end the cat's suffering by taking her to a vet. Today. Right NOW.

I'm trying to get her to take her to the vet but she says she wants her to die at home not in a clinic. She says precious is pretty out of it. that when you try to open her eyes the inner lid just stays shut and her eye closes after...like shes not even conscious anymore. good idea though I'll look up 24/7 vet places. problem is she lives up in the middle of nowhere mountains so a vet place would still be uber far for her to drive anyways...so hard to convince her.

A lot of places will come to you for a fee. When one of my childhood cats, Meeka, was dying this spring, we called our vet and he came over to our house so he could put her down without giving her a heart attack from the car ride (she hated cars). She wouldn't have lasted through the night but we didn't want her to suffer. Please, I beg you, tell your mom to call an at home vet, it is not fair for your poor kitty to suffer for even one minute. If the cat can be saved then you won't have to let her die, and if she can't, well, it will be peaceful. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. When Meeka died my mom couldn't get out of work so it was just me and the vet at my mom's house and it was so hard to handle, but I couldn't imagine being so far away like you are. Sending my sympathies.

yeah she just yelled at me and told me to drop the vet thing or she'd stop talking to me. She says she gave her castor oil for hairballs or something a while ago. dunno if that is pertinent. but yeah she says no vets period. I am so at a loss I hate for precious to be suffering and not being able to do anything about it. if I were there I'd just take her myself. I offered to pay any fees but she says its not about the money she just doesn't want her to be put down period. To die "naturally"

well she put my sister to talk to me because she was tired of me talking about the vet to her. And we both talked to her with our dad about my sister taking her to the vet so my mom doesn't have to "hear" that she has to be put down. She won't put her down but they are going to take her just in case she can be cured.
