I think I am gonna try wellness core. Is it ok to feed you cat only one type of food and flavor? When I fed EVO I didn't give them anything else just the same kind. I notice reading here that some people alternate brands and flavors.

I started alternating brands and flavors of canned foods after the melamine poisoning of 2007. This way, if there is a recall of a food you are feeding, it's not the only thing they have been eating, so less danger to their health. In addition, once a food has been recalled, or discontinued, which happens, or changed which happens after a buy out, if that's the only food you've been feeding you're stuck scrambling to find something else the cat will eat, and it's an abrupt change.

So..feeding a variety helps keep the cat safe, and there's less hassle if a food has to be stopped for whatever reason.

The final reason is, not everything is known about feline nutrition. What if one food is lacking in some minute nutrient that another food has? If you feed a variety, the chances are better that kitty is getting as much nutrition as possible.

These are my reasons for feeding a variety of brands in rotation.

Makes excellent sense. I am trying a lot of different varieties right now because we have 10 cats with 10 different preferrences/tolerances who are also very manipulative.

Wow. That's way worse than Fancy Feast. Really bad wet food. Better than dry, though.

I feed Rocky both Weruva and Fussie Cat, predominantly. He prefers the food that is more gravy style vs the pate, so i think it typically just depends on the cat and their preference. Cat's can often times be finicky eaters, so i just found what he loved the most, and continued with it

Soulistic is a very good food. I only feed the Good Karma Chicken in gravy, but my special needs cat is thriving on it. Thick glossy coat, good firm low odor stools, and boundless energy. He's been eating it (predominantly, but with other foods in rotation) for about 4 months now.
