My apartment wouldn't let us in without rabies and distemper shots. I don't mind though, because Sinatra does go outside in the summer (probably Nutmeg too this summer) and I would hate to have something horrible happen to them if they bit someone or came into contact with another animal. They also get flea meds during the summer. The only thing side effect we have ever had from shots is lethargy for a day.
I would HATE to have something happen to your cat (like having to put it down) because of advice you received on this forum. I also feel like the odds of that happening are more likely than having to cut your cat's arm off because of a shot that is given so frequently that it is the law.

I know i don't *WANT* to vaccinate him. My guy doesn't go out and I rarely have company and whomever I have over he either wouldn't bite or they wouldn't be worried about rabies BUT I have to for his pet insurance. If something happens to him and they won't cover it because he's not vaccinated we're both kind of screwed.
