My wife and I just realised a couple of weeks ago one of out cats is putting on weight. He is just about 7 1/2 month and now weights about 5kg.
We are worried about his health. Lately he become less active and like to lie down most of the time especially after having his meal. What should we do..change his meal type. Now we give him a mixed of dry cat food (like biscuit) and boiled fish. Any advice? Or is there any special diet for overweight cat? |

1st off play with him more, some cats will just lie around all day if you don't provide them with stimulation.
Get a "cat tree" this will allow the cat to entertain themselves and get exercise. Don't leave food out for him to snack on all day. |

From my recent readings and research I am seeing a lot of owners having really good luck with those laser light toys. Don't go overboard as your tubbo is out of shape and too much of a good thing is bad. No more then 5-10 TOPS at a time. Also what are you feeding him and what are the feeding instructions?
I find many times pet food folks say to feed a pet WAY more then they actually need. You can also try a grain free cat food. Grains tend to put more bulk on the cat. In short, get your best Rocky Balboa singing voice, put a sweatband or two on him and MOVE MOVE MOVE him hehe |
