TEXAS: Killeen City Council will hold a workshop July 5 to discuss adopting a 3 year rabies ordinance for the city. They will vote July 12.

Not sure if this is good or bad news... One-year vaccines are actually safer than the 3-year vaccines. Unless this means that one-year vaccines can now be given every 3 years, which I doubt.

The only one-year rabies vaccine that is considered to be safer than a 3 year is the non-adjuvanted rabies vaccine for felines. Unfortunately, there is no such thing available for dogs & yes, this is very good news for them and any pet owner who would like the choice of giving their pet a 3 or 1 year rabies vaccine.
