I'm tearing up for your right now, trying to keep myself from crying since I just put on my makeup for a night out (so picture a girl in Harry Potter gear desperately trying to hold back water from ruining the face powder, it might give you a laugh).
Just last year I lost my baby Ella, a 5 year old Golden Retriever to cancer. At first we thought it was just arthritis or hip dysplasia (she was really stiff), but then it turned out she only had a month to live because it was progressing so quickly. I know how much it breaks your heart to watch a loved pet move on, especially when it is much too soon, or much too sudden, or both. It just feels like there is a big empty space that was once filled with a creature that gave you joy, and it hurts. I wish I could give you hugs through the internet, but instead all I can type is that I am so, so sorry for your loss. |

i'm so sorry for your loss. I came upon your post just a little bit ago and your Sam's symptoms seemed so much like my cats Foggy's. they thought she had Feline Triad Complex or syndrome. She recovered for a dew months and relapsed and I had to put her to sleep;
here is a brief bit that I found "Triad syndrome is the name used to describe the occurrence of pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease and cholangiohepatitis at the same time, which seems to be a fairly common problem in older cats. It has only recently been recognized as a syndrome and there isn't a lot of information on why it might occur or on what the relationship is between the three conditions that causes them to occur concurrently." i googled it. My cat passed away almost 10 years ago and I am afraid I no longer remember the treatment besides IV antibiotics, possibly steroids and diet change. again my thoughts are with you during this time. |

So very sorry for you loss. Our fur kids have a way of working into our hearts, beyond all defenses. Because of this we often feel the loss of a loved fur kid as much if not more intensely than we do other losses. Nothing can take the pain of that loss away, but talking about it, sharing your grief, and some time will help. I've lost a few dear fur kids, the last being 10.5 yrs ago, and it's only been in the last few years that I can look at pics of them and smile/laugh at their memories. It's true, time will ease the loss, but it will always be there. I'm pleased to see they have a forum here for pet loss, so you can have support and not be shy/guarded about your loss and it's impact on you.
