Default Dime-sized urine/blood

Something is wrong with my Mandy and of course the vet is closed today! She kept getting in her litter box over and over which is very odd for her, so I took off the lid to see what she was doing in there. She squatted to pee but only did a tiny dime size amount. Then she did that twice more and the third time there is a spot of blood in it. My poor kitty! Will she be ok until tomorrow? Is there anything I can do in the mean time? I'm going to call the vet tomorrow and make an asap appointment. There are emergency vet clinics here but I can' afford them

Strange how this is sudden, there were 3 large urine balls since I cleaned it out yesterday morning. She eats only wet food and drinks from her water every one in a while. She isn't acting sick but I know cats like to hide illness.

Also, she is extra hungry this morning. Very odd?

Is there any way you can borrow the money from someone? I'm not sure if waiting until tomorrow is a good idea. I understand about not being able to afford the e-vet, though. I took me a month to pay off the e-vet after I rushed my Smokey to the e-vet the night he died. Luckily, the vet didn't charge for the visit. She only charged me for the cost of the euthanasia which was $82. Then there was the separate charge for his cremation, the cedar box, his paw print captured in a plaster of paris cast, plus the death certificate, cat poem and condolence card. That came to $80, but since I used my ATM card to pay it, there was an additional $15 charge. So I ended paying a total of $177. However, I didn't have to pay it all at once. I signed a promissory note saying that I would make payments until everything was paid in full. You can see if any of the e-vets near you have something like that. I'm so glad that the e-vet near me did that, otherwise I wouldn't have my Smokey sitting on my book case, which would have made his loss even harder to deal with.

Since she's still hungry, are you offering her extra food? And if you are, is she eating it or is she just kinda picking at it?

She only picked at it. She went back into her box and did a tiny bit of urine with more blood in it. Are you saying this is life threatening?

Imo, yes. If her urinary tract is blocked and her urine backs up into her kidneys then yes, it could quickly become life threatening.

Don't wait. This happened to Lexi. Vet said if I had waited she could've gotten completely blocked and extremely sick, and it would've been a very expensive stay at the vet..

If she blocks completely (either due to crystals or inflammation from an infection) her kidneys will stop producing urine, which means they don't filter the blood. Toxins build up in the blood and become life threatening. This can happen very quickly, I wouldn't mess around...you could go to bed and wake up to an very ill (or worse) cat.

I just wanted to reiterate what I said about seeing if the e-vet will work with you. The vet nurse was really sweet and helped me through a difficult time. It doesn't hurt to call around and see if any of the e-vets have a payment plan/promissory note.

Good luck, and please...keep us updated.

It's an awful feeling when something goes wrong and you have to decide whether to go to an e-vet. Our male cat had a blockage and his regular vet was closed. He was constantly licking his penis and it wasn't until the evening that we decided it wasn't just normal grooming.

We went to the e-vet and they checked him out and discharged him. The next day things didn't improve, his regular vet couldn't fit him in, and we had to take him back to the e-vet and he ended up having surgery. $3,000 and it had to be paid in full upon discharge. No payment plans. So absolutely call every e-vet in your area. There is only one e-vet in town so we had no other options. Good luck with everything!
