Unhappy Jackson is sick

Poor baby. He seemed fine but when he woke up from his nap one of his eyes was swollen and closed and he had what looked like pus. I took him to the emergency hospital because my vet was closed. Three medications and 200 dollars later, he has an upper respiratory infection and fever. Oral antibiotics, nose drops and eye ointment 2x a day for a week and then a recheck.

Poor kitty. He weighed 3 pounds but he is under weight. He is eating really well here though. He has eaten the free fed Wellness Core dry food twice and had some canned for lunch.

He has had a busy first day with us. sigh.

I'm so sorry to hear that he is sick. Poor baby. I hope the antibiotics work and he feels better soon!

Having a sick kitty sucks. Franklin will let me do ANYTHING to he, except the eye ointment thing. Boy does he pitch a fit!

I am praying that Cooper doesn't catch it.

Well he was feeling much better last night and still is this morning. He has eaten heartily, and he and Coop woke me up at 3 am wrestling. It was pain giving him his multiple medicines but I'm not good at medicating cats.

AW poor sweetie!

Starting him on L-Lysine would probably help long term, he sounds like my Elliot did when he was a baby (super sick).

Awww...yes L-lysine is good to get him on to prevent future flare-ups. He should be ok in a couple of weeks, but it is so scary when they are little. Hope he gets well real soon!
