Oh, I wish Ziwi Peak was cheaper...the price is the only reason I haven't bought it yet. That said, the ingredients are top notch and very limited. It's an excellent food. Seems you can even get it cheaper than I can...cheapest here is $2.69 a can.

I decided on Addiction for my cats New Zealand fix. It's cheaper, and I think pate only. But it comes in some really interesting flavors that my girls just love like Rabbit and Blackforest Blueberries and Wild New Zealand Brushtail.

Well, guess what, of course pretty pretty princess Rocky loves Ziwi Peak. lol He can't get enough of the venison, he has already eaten almost 6 oz and i fed him a 5.5 can of Weruva earlier. lol! I told him, Rocky, look, this is going to be a special treat for you and he just acts like it's heaven and he's going to go to town regardless of if he only gets a can every once and a while. lol! Is it limited because of the fact that it's venison or because of the other ingredients in it? It must be the other ingredients, because Evo sells venison. I am watching him scarf down this food in a hurried second right now, it's like thanksgiving for him. lol I haven't heard of Addiction, I would love to get Rabbit and Bushtail I should look them up and see if someone local sells it, thanks for the suggestion I guess our cat's want to travel the world, like to places such as New Zealand where the food is super special. lol

Glad to hear Rocky liked his Ziwi Peak Venison! Not so good for your pocketbook though, haha! XD

I say limited because there are only a few ingredients in the food itself...you are getting no by-products, no artificial anything, no extra additives, high in protein, and I really like the breakdown of the percentages of meats, especially the organs. As a half canned/half raw feeder, percentages are huge to me, and I appreciate that Ziwi makes it easy to tell exactly what you are feeding.

The listing of ingredients for the Ziwi Peak Venison is: Venison - meat (min 40%), Liver, Tripe, Kidney and Heart (min 19%), Green-lipped and blue mussel (min 4%), Carrageenan, Guar, Flax Seed Oil (min .5%), Vitamins and Minerals.

EVO Venison ingredient listing is: Venison, Venison Broth, Natural Flavors, Carrageenan, Potassium Chloride, Minerals, Guar Gum, Vitamins, Choline Chloride, Herring Oil, Salt, Sodium Ascorbate, Taurine, Sunflower Oil, Sodium Phosphate, Beta Carotene

I really don't like the extra addition of salt in the EVO and I wish they would specify what "natural flavors" are, and you can see there are a few more ingredients then in the Ziwi (but not that I'm saying EVO is bad...it's also another excellent food, but you can see the difference when you compare side-by-side).

If you try the Addiction, just keep in mind it's pate only (I THINK...I haven't tried all flavors yet, but the ones I have tried have been pate), and I know you mentioned Rocky not being too keen on the pate. But my girls go crazy for it, and it's quite a bit cheaper.

My picky eater Pandora will ONLY eat Ziwi Peak (of course). You can do the 13.5 cans for dogs, Ziwi Peak states there is enough Taurine in the dogfood for cats because of the high meat levels. The 13.5 ouce cans make it a little more affordable. Pandora likes the lamb best.

My cats didn't take to the Ziwi Peak or the Addiction brand foods. I was
surprised because the descriptions sounded yummy.

I went through all the quality brands to find one that everyone would be happy
with. I order online so I ended up with cases of food that didn't work for my
crew. I ended up donating them to the shelter here that recently took in 700 cats from a hoarder.

My cats chose Natural Balance as their favorite and now everyone is happy.

Ahem, 700 cats?! SEVEN HUNDRED?! Oh my goodness, that's unfathomable!

Ah, Ziwi Peak is $3.85 over here- aha, I think that may be pushing it. I already pay about $2-$3 a can now!

Wow, Abbie! I don't think I'll complain about my cat food prices for a while! XD

Rocky, I wanted to let you know that I tried the Addiction Hunter's Venison Stew (pate) this morning on the girls and that flavor was a hit too. Seems like Addiction is turning into a favorite around here.
