My cat Azores has lost some weight lately and I think that's due to the boys crowding her every time she eats. For some reason when ever i am cooking or preparing food they come running down like crazy, meowing for food. They have been like this since I got them as kittens. When Azores would eat at the bowl they would crowd her and sometimes push her away. I think the stress of that has caused her to eat less. She is still her old self, and I have been checking her constantly for signs of illness. I am looking for some food that I can give her to help put on 3-4lbs. I tried giving her treats but she just ends up throwing it up. And also she seems to have grown fond of eating wet food.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks! |

3-4 lbs is a lot of weight to lose because the boys are shoving her out of her dish. While she appears healthy, I'd be concerned, cats are masters at hiding illness...how old is she?

ok i decided to do some investigation. i spent the last hour looking for my manual scale that i weigh her in. Finally i found it. Normally shes about 8-9lbs and now shes a little over 7lbs. I dont know, she still seems a lil skinny. So i called up the vet to find out how much she weighed last and last year in april she was 7.9lbs. I will most likely take her in because she still seems weak or off. Doc says it may be a thyroid issue but they can do some blood work and see how it goes.

im a little worried because she was well rounded and her bones didnt seem to stick out, and now they seem to. im hoping its just her growing into an adult, but even still, id rather her weigh 10lbs then 7.

ok so came back from the vet today. Scale says shes 8lbs!! 8lbs!! they weighed her twice to be sure. We showed doc the balding spot on her back and we suspect its over grooming maybe from stress. So i told them how her gait seemed to be high and her back feeling bony by her tail. He said thats normal and that some cats get rid of the belly fat and some don't and that its healthier if she got rid of the belly fat then not. He did notice some constipation and prescribed some laxatone to help her pass. I got her some kitty crack cat food to feed her. he said she could use a half pound or one pound in weight gain but appears healthy. if she still appears constipated then they will run blood work on her on the next visit. so everything seems ok for now.

You might want to feed her separately and stop feeding the other two so much if they're getting porky.
Figure out what food she throws up and avoid it, try to find some wet food flavors that she'll gobble up. |

the boys seem fine. Jimmu was the largest of the litter and Castiel was the runt. So Jimmu, although hefty, isnt really fat. I just call him chunky cause hes the biggest cat ive ever had lol. We already feed her separately wet food. She likes seafood flavors. I got her some kitty crack so she can eat that up and maybe slowly gain some weight. Shes the only one that eats wet food. when things become normal and routine i may introduce the wet food to the boys so they can have both.
