Default before grain cat/dog canned the same?

I am doing some research on canned foods ..again.
Don't get me wrong, I love Wellness core and my dog and cats are on it. I am looking at things to supplement their diet with.

A good example is about once a week I give Bentley Before Grain canned tripe. Tripe is a WONDERFUL magical food for dogs. BG does not have a cat version of tripe.

That got me looking into the ingredients and analysis. For the canned products that cross over (Salmon and chicken) the ingredients and the analysis is the exact same. It seems they make a big batch and package it differently for cats and dogs. I did some quick math and it seems per ounce the cat version is 10 cents more an ounce (not can) and that is the only difference ~ price.

So if I buy Bentley cans of the tripe and Buffalo ~ I can safely split it up with the cats to give them a once in a while treat as well, right? I don't see anything that will hurt them and the protein content is the same.

The Tripe stinks to high heaven. I hate having leftovers in my fridge and its too rich to give Bentley a full can. I use it as a topping but due to the smell I (sadly) wimp out, plug my nose, dump the entire can in his bowl and gag myself out of the room while he happily devours it. If I can give it to the cats and they like it ~ I can split the 1 can up to give all of them some

For that matter I can do the same for the Buffalo. I don't know too many cats that can take a Buffalo down in the wild but I am sure the change in taste would keep them interested.

SOOOOOOOOO questions for the pet food experts ~ is it safe to do this? I know the majority of cat/dog foods are different. I know the cat food has a higher protein count and all of that good stuff. I am just not seeing a difference in content when it comes to the Before Grain? Also, I have seen lots of RAW food diets contain tripe for cats so I am assuming its safe so the canned tripe should be safe as well?

Thanks! I just read that thread but my question is a bit different. I understand the flavors that cross over to both breeds, such as the chicken and the Salmon, are the same but what about flavors that don't crossover such as the tripe and buffalo? They don't offer tripe for cats but I am seriously considering adding it to the cats' meal when I feed it to Bentley.
