Default Furballs and Furball Remedies

My short haired tuxedo needs the occasional reversal of fortune, so to speak, and eliminate a furball or two. I brush her almost daily but, like all cats, she's fastidious about grooming herself.
My point? Oh, yeah. . .no matter what furball medicine I buy, and I have tried most of them, she refuses to take it. Any suggestions, solutions, homemade remedies? Thank you.

If you smear the Petra Malt on their front leg they'll be forced to lick it off.

Tried that, and she spent three days walking around the house trying to shake it off.

LMAO! My guy drags the top of his feet on the carpet when he walks, leaving trails of vaseline goo all over my carpet. It doesn't work for me either, unless I want to pin him down and force it into his mouth (no thanks).

I've also heard mix a bit of Olive Oil with their food.
My Meme had super fine fur and shedded constantly, she didn't cough up hairball but passed them out the other end and would sometimes get an dangler.

I have been trying the canned pumkin in their canned food. It does work, but I have not been as diligent with it as I should be. I keep forgetting to put it into Lacey's food. She is the only one that has problems with hairballs.

A spoonful of pumpkin mixed in with some canned food sounds like it's worth a try. But, do cats eat pumpkin?

Make sure it's not pumpkin-pie filling. There's a difference.

My vet told me to try a little olive oil or even a little bit of butter. My cats looooove butter so that was an easy remedy.
