Why do they dislike the large cans?

I can't figure it out. The kittens are eating 10-12oz a day of Wellness canned food, to save money I bought some of the 12 oz cans last week. But they don't like it as much as the smaller cans. Is there something different about the large cans?

They have eaten all the flavors equally before.

I think the liquid settles to the bottom of the can making the top part dryer.
Try turning the can over, maybe the juice will redistribute through out the can.

Hmmm maybe that is it. I have noticed that there is a layer of congealed fat or juices.
