Default Your cleaning products?

What do you use to clean their litter boxes, food dishes, brushes, combs, laundry, etc. etc.?? Do you wash their dishes together with yours?

We run the water fountain and food dishes in our dishwasher with our dishes. Other than that we don't really "sanitize" everything, since I don't like the cats coming in contact with a lot of chemicals.

I wash all the dishes by hand, separate sponges for cat and dog dishes. I don't have a dishwasher, although I wish I did!

When I clean the litter box out completely, I use vinegar and water mix to get smells out. I also take it outside and rinse it really well with the garden hose after so that there is no residual smell of vinegar.

When washing anything else or when cleaning around the house, I usually use these products: Cleaning Products

They are expensive but they work and a little goes a long way. I use the dish soap, laundry soap, house cleaner, all purpose cleaner. I am just not sure about using any of that stuff in her litter box, which is why I resort to water and vinegar.

I wash Finnick's dishes with ours in the dishwasher. It bugs my roommate, because she says cat food is different from human food, but I really don't see how and she can get over it. His litter box is cleaned with a water and vinegar based cleaning product I find at Kroger. It is basically just water, vinegar, and I think glycerin.

I was their dishes in just regular dish washing liquid, in the sink as I would our dishes. Same for any bedding, just in the machine with some washing powder and a little scoop of stain remover (Napisan). As for the litter tray, I empty that out once a week and just scrub it clean with some hot soapy water

Water fountain and food dishes get put through the dishwasher with my stuff. I have the sanitizing heat setting that I love and use on every cycle.

I wash his blankets separately but only because he has so many they are a full load by themselves each week. I use the same detergent as on my clothes but I don't put in a dryer sheet. I don't like the way it makes him smell.

I used to use bleach to wash his litter box but since I've gotten the new one I don't seem to NEED to empty it/wash it. I probably would if I had an outdoor place to do that but... I don't (yay for apartment living).

How do you guys wash their brushes and combs? And do you put their bedding together with your laundry in the washing machine?

I don't wash his brush I just clean the hair out of it after I use it and put it away. If one of his blankets needs a wash before I do the rest I have no problem throwing it in with my laundry.

I keep 2 sets of brushes, combs, nail scissors and the rest of my grooming stuff. 1 set is for my 2 kitties and the other is for 'other' kitties - my parents, fosters, etc. I wash with a 10% bleach solution between cats for the 'other' kitties so I don't spread disease per the rescue I work with.

For my kitties I pretty much don't worry about washing grooming stuff except for the nail scissors which get a bleach spray. My kitties sleep on my bed and we share bedding, despite my purchases the kitties still prefer fresh laundry to any other option so their laundry is done with mine - kinda funny as I won't wash my boys sweaty clothes with mine.....

I keep the fosters laundry separate and wash on the sanitize cycle

I usually clean the litter box with a mixture of vinegar and water. Sometimes when I'm lazy I just use disinfecting wipes, but the "natural" kind--I can't remember the brand I'm using now. I wash his food dishes with dish detergent, and yes, I wash his dishes together with mine--there are a lot of ceramic bowls that we both use. I only have three cat-only dishes.

I have never cleaned his brushes, aside from pulling hair out. I have never cleaned any of my own brushes either, except after the several times I have accidentally dropped one in the toilet. Yes, that's right, several.

Niles doesn't wear clothes, so no laundry of his own, haha. He does gets hair all over blankets and towels that I have folded on the chairs/couch, and those just get washed with my stuff.
