I typically heat my cats' food in the microwave for 8 seconds if it has been stored in the fridge. Mimi (new cat) went right to town on it cold before I could put it in the microwave. Is it BAD for them to eat it cold? I've read posts about warming it up first and it seems that most people do that but if she will eat it cold, I'd rather avoid the microwave (for obvious reasons).
Thanks. |

I used to warm Missy's food in the microwave (6 seconds), but she started rejecting it. She prefers it cold rather than microwaved and she's seemingly quite healthy. She gets her daily sardine unwarmed, too. Why should cold be bad for cats?

I think from what I read, many cats won't take to cold food because it doesn't smell as strongly as cold food, and since they use their sense of smell to identify something, they might not recognize cold food as food. My kitties don't seem to have that problem though.
