My poor lil kitty cat has been losing her fur, behind her ears is bald and all down her back there are patches but they are scabby and weepy. I have wormed her, bathed her, and frontlined her. I initially thought it was a flea allergy as she went from being an indoor cat to wanting to explore the big wide world. My friend who used to volunteer for the RSPCA checked her fur thoroughly and did find 1 adult flea but after frontlining her she's still sore and weepy. She also bathed her for my and said there was no flea poop in her
fur. I am hoping me having two babies hasn't affected her so much that she's started with stress. I am torn between rehoming or just hoping she'll get better. I am buying feliway tomorrow but I really don't know what is wrong with her and I can't afford a vet right now because I have just started university (please don't flame me for that as I feel guilty as it is. Does anyone have any other ideas? What can I bathe/soothe her broken skin with? Or help her recover??

Your cat needs to go to a vet!
She has open wounds, probably that are (or will soon be) infected, from an unknown cause. It could be contagious, such as mange (which isn't common in cats but IS possible), or if you're lucky it will be something like an allergy. If you applied the frontline after you noticed the issue it could have made things worse. Frontline is a very serious chemical, and applying it to an animal with open wounds could cause chemical burns or even just weaken her immune system and let in an infection. Rehoming her in this state is not only extremely unlikely, it's extremely irresponsible. Your cat is in pain, she might not be showing it like a human in the same condition would, but I guarantee you she is in pain. You need to take her to a vet and see what the issue is and deal with it. Even if it is caused by stress she needs to be put on an antibiotic, and the vet might be able to give you a cream to calm the inflammation. Then you can deal with any stress. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but with a cat in the state you're describing not taking her to the vet is animal cruelty. You are denying her of a basic right to veterinary care and allowing her to suffer. She should have gone in when you first noticed the issue. I understand that sometimes it can be hard to scrape up money for a vet bill, and there are usually care credit groups that may be able to help cover some of the cost. If for some reason you can't take her in to a vet at all you should seriously think about surrendering her to a local rescue group, a no-kill one, so that they can get her healthy again. Again, I'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but right now my concern is for your kitty. I hope you do the right thing and get her treatment and that she gets better soon.

Take your cat to a vet. Don't feel guilty, just take her to a vet. Most likely she is in intense pain. Feliway won't do anything for now if she has wounds and needs to be treated.
Good luck, and I really hope you can take her to a vet.
