Default STRANGLED kitten!

...I'm really really really really freaking out right now, just found Voldie totally entwined and HANGING from the leash we had on on the knob (it's a pretty high one) of his room. I have no idea how it happened, I was on the computer and heard him hissing/meowing, went to check and found him like that.

I picked him and got him away from the leash/rope but he's like, seems to have trouble breathing/noisy breathing and is very floppy. He also seems very afraid of me? the room? He has his tail tucked in between his legs and is just glue to the floor.

What do I do? Please help! (and we kitten proofed his room, I have no idea how he managed to reach that high and get the leash that was wrapped around the knob).

Call your vet or Emergency vet asap if you already haven't taken him in. This sounds like an emergency if he is having trouble breathing!

That's the thing. *cries* I don't have a car, can't take him until my husband comes home at 4:30 (in about two hours). He also has my wallet with money and my cards since he's the one to go do groceries.

I'm such an horrible person.

Can you call your husband to come home asap??? Call the vet or er vet anyway and ask if there is anything you can do until you can get him in.

I've called the e-vet and I'll be heading there asap.

Has anyone ever had this happens? He doesn't seem to be struggling to breathe any more, but his swallowing down very often.

I haven't had it happen, but it's why I cut my mini-blinds cords so there wouldn't be a loop to get caught in. It's good you found him right away. Hope everything is OK .
