Default Favoring front right paw

Hello all! I noticed my cat Buddy favoring his paw a couple days ago and I checked him out to see what was wrong and he seems to have cut his pad (not on the bottom, but in the fold by the toes). He let me clean the area and treat it with a little peroxide to disinfect it and I was also able to put a little bit of neosporin on it (I didnt want to put too much in case he tried to lick it off). I wanted to wait a couple days to see if it started healing, but he is still favoring it and im worried it is going to get infected with him using the litter box. I want to take him to the vet, but since ive waited a couple days they are going to be closed for the holidays (so i can get him in the soonest on Tuesday). I dont feel like it is an emergency situation, but im worried. Anyone ever have this happen to their cats before? If so, what did you do? What did the vet do/say? Should I just take care of it myself? Should I clean it and wrap it up? Please help! Thanks!

Since you are looking at a long weekend, and since your cat isn't getting any better, I recommend you get him to an e-vet today for treatment and antibiotics. Better now than waiting until after he has a raging infection in that foot.

well Buddy saw the vet and apparently he rubbed himself raw on the new cat scratcher (floor cardboard one) that he hurt is paw. Afterward he was licking it so much that he pulled off part of his bad (we saw this once the vet clipped back his hair). He got put on antibiotics and a bacterial fighting foot soak along with 3 days of pain meds. He went back for his follow up today and the vet was very pleased with his progress. His wounds are scabbed over and when she peeled a bit of one back, she said he is healing very well and should only need one more week to wear his e-collar. So that's the update!
