Default Kitten throwing up, liquid, still eating etc...

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit worried right now! I wanted to see if anyone knew why this would be happening to my poor baby kitten. He's 3 months old.

Starting earlier today, Bronx threw up. It was weird and all of a sudden, and it was this coloured liquid (there was nothing chunky in it, just straight liquid, and it was the same colour as the wet food that I feed him - EVO canned and he has been eating it since we got him a month ago, so I didn't change his food or anything.) He would act a bit weird before and after, sort of like he was upset and would meow and lick his lips quite a bit. Then, he would resume playing with his sister, and acting normal and eating drinking etc.

Well, just a few minutes ago he did it again. He ate his supper earlier and then about an hour later got up to the litter box and threw up again, but this time there was barely any liquid, it was only about a teaspoon, definitely not as much as last time.

His stomach was gurgling too before he would throw up, so that worried me. Right now he's sleeping but I'm not sure what to do! I hope he did not ingest something bad. I am planning on bringing him to the vet tomorrow because he is still eating and drinking and otherwise seems fine.

Has this happened to any of you before?! What could it be! His sister eats the same food and she's absolutely fine, so I'm not sure what he could have got into

Maybe he ate something he shouldn't have while you weren't looking? If thats the case, he'll keep throwing up until all remnants are cleared from his stomach. The vet may be able to tell better. Hope he gets better.

It sounds like indigestion. Definitely if he keeps throwing up take him to the vet, but I wouldn't rush it yet, call the vet before hand and ask him/her what they would do first, so you don't have to pay for them to say "Oh he just has gas" and then having to pay money.
One thing we did with our kitties upset tummies is natural tea, we'd brew it, let it cool and then give it to them in the side of their mouths using a syringe. Not too much of course just a tiny bit. Green Tea is especially good for it because it's a very light tea and full of antioxidants, (Cats need them too)

I hope he starts feeling better soon

Update: Well, I ended up taking him to the vet because I was paranoid and scared and since these are my first kitties I want to make sure he is ok!

She took his temp, felt around in his belly, and said she could feel hard stool but no foreign objects, said he looked all around good and maybe just got into something he shouldn't have. $120 later she gave him a shot of antibiotics and sent me home with some pills for his belly.

2 days later with the pills, he has only thrown up once more, yesterday at 9am. He has not lost any appetite, still eating & drinking lots, playing with his sister, acting normal except MAYBE a little tired/upset, or maybe I am just imagining it and being paranoid!!!

He was not pooping yesterday at all, so then I got SUPER worried, but then last night at around 7pm he took a decent poo... I'm wondering if maybe he is constipated? He hasn't pooped yet today - but his poop yesterday looked relatively normal. His stomach still seems upset though, when I picked him up earlier it gurgled and got swollen But right now he's sleeping on me with his sister.

So basically he still has some symptoms after 3 days - licking his lips as if he is nauseous, gurgling tummy (no throw up yet), and not pooping (yet). I seen him try a couple of times, but then he ended up just peeing. God I don't know what to do!! Is this something to be worried about?

my little buddy has me on pins and needles.

I wouldnt worry to much about the pooping as long as he's doing it once a day.Thats all Mia has ever done.

His belly may be swollen just from gas. I know I changed Mia's food a few weeks ago and she has terrible gas. If I pick her up around the tummy she deflates. He might still be trying to get used to his new food.

If he starts throwing up again I would take him back or if he doesnt seem interested in his food or playing. Try to relax unless he gives you something else to worry about. Just enjoy him.

Final update! He pooped majorly tonight, and has been playing and acting like his good old self again! SOO relieved! I called my vet and she instructed to give him a bit of vaseline, and OMG does it ever work! like 20 minutes later he pooped and his stomach is no longer bloated or gurgling, yay! so so happy. I am going to continue giving him a bit of vaseline each week, as I'm not sure why he got constipated in the first place as I only feed him wet food but ANYWAY here's to hoping it wont happen again! never been so happy to see poop in my life!
