Sorry for hijacking, after reading all these, look like I might have to relook my wet food brand for ET. Addiction has between 1.8-1.9% phosphorus. Not gonna wait till its too late. All the scare about carageenan, Urinary problem. Thanks for all the infor.

If he doesn't have a history of urinary problems, you shouldn't need to significantly limit his phosphorous intake. Increasing his water intake by adding it to his food or enticing him to drink otherwise is always a good idea though.
Edit: You should ask if the manufacturer uses degraded carrageenan. Degraded carrageenan is the concern, undegraded isn't believed to be harmful but some people are overly cautious.

Oic, ok will just try to add more water, I seriously don't think I have added enough.
Thanks, I didn't know there's something as degraded and undegraded, I will email manufacturer to find out. Its hard trying to find canned food without carrageenan. I sure learned alot from this forum. Last edited by marie73; 01-01-2013 at 08:24 PM. |
