The only time I've ever had my cats refuse a certain type of food is when its first ingredient was beef. I would stick with the prey animals that cats are 'supposed' to catch like chicken, turkey, quail, rabbit, etc. smaller game. Could be the reason for the diarrhea, I dunno, just speculating.
