She's cute, definitely a calico, like my twins.

She's a gorgeous calico that looks like one of mine! Two of my three cats are rescues. Both of the rescues had upper respiratory infections and one of them was very sneezy with runny eyes when I got her(I ordered some l-lysine online that cleared it right up). As for drinking, she probably is drinking more when you arnt aware. She may also like flowing water .... I would look into getting a pet fountain to motivate her to drink.

Well, my cat is definitely constipated. She passed hard stool last night and her anus was bloody and raw this morning. So tonight we will try pumpkin puree and tuna flavoured water. My vet appointment is next Monday, and I'm working late tonight. But if that doesn't get better by tomorrow I should probably see the vet right away, right?
I'm still very annoyed with the shelter. I think they don't realize how rough it is on everybody to adopt a new cat without adding sterilization on top of that the first week. I know shelters are crowded but seriously... The instructions from the vet at the shelter said the medication they gave her after being fixed could make her constipated for a few days. What's a few days? Two, three days? This past week she's had hard BM every two days. She's on canned wet food twice a day with water added to it. She eats well and otherwise seems ok. The only funny thing about the whole situation is how we look at her with enthusiasm every time she goes to use the litter (you go girl!). And also the aggravated looks she gives me every time I try to trick her into drinking more water!!! I just want her to be ok! |
