Shopping for food?

Is it okay to feed one's cat the same thing always? (if the cat doesn't appear to mind at all and is doing well)

I suppose, but that's a good way to create a very picky cat and you'll more than likely have a problem if your food becomes unavailable or is discontinued. I buy a 15# bag of cat food and switch every time the bag is empty (every 3-4 months), I also buy different cans for every meal as well. Have been feeding my cats this way for 9 years and they are not picky at all and have been doing very well.

Aside: I see you are in Wisconsin, I live in Madison!

lol it's too late to worry about creating a picky cat.. my cat is an absolute picky brat (who is absolutely adorable and who I'd do anything for naturally), but I figure at 16 yrs I'm just going to go with it. I typically buy a case from the vet which lasts about a couple months (she only weighs 6lb) and then I give small meals every few hours mixed with warm water. I switched to this food ~2 yrs ago and her general baseline health seems to have improved. I do wonder sometimes if she'd prefer variety, but I guess I'm just glad to have found a food she likes that's supposedly healthy.

And that's neat about Wisconsin, I like Madison, I'm a bit north in Point.

I buy 2 packs of 12 12.5oz cans about once a month. I'm only buying 2 flavors of Wellness right now. I only buy wet food for my foster kitten and she does not do well on Evo sadly. She did well on Merrick BG but the 5.5oz cans aren't affordable with her appetite. She eats a lot, probably too much. I'm giving her about 10oz a day right now. That's around 400 calories. She'll be 5 months old tomorrow.

So yeah, I buy food for her about once a month. My cat eats dry food and I buy a bag every 4 months or so.
