I don't think it's the protein. Raw fed cats have very little stools or gas and when they do have a stool it doesn't have much smell at all.

My cat was like that too when we first got her, I think it was due to the stress of moving and getting used to a new area, and getting used to new food. I'd just keep him on the same food for a while and let him settle in.

This thread is too funny but so very true! Just got my kitten last week. He was laying on my chest the one morning and nobody was around...then I smelt this horrible odour and realised my little sleeping champ let rip! Was only him and I in the room and it wasn't me! I laughed so much that I actually woke him up!
