Hi All,
Sharkie finally got all the metalwork out of his leg last week after a dog bit him and appeared to be doing well. However I noticed over the last few days that the top of the femur (the bone which was broken) is protruding out of his leg more than I would have expected. Also when he goes down the stairs he tends to drag that leg behind him and can only jump, well hop up onto furniture which is quite low to the ground. So I took him back to the vet today to be examined by the ortho surgeon who did his op. He said he can't say for definate but it looks like he could have dislocated his hip or the top of the femur has come away from the rest of the bone. Either way doesn't sound good news for him. He can't x-ray him until tomorrow as Sharkie had already eaten. Has anybody had any experience of either of these situations? If so please could you offer me some advice, I'm really worried about my little boy. He's only 6 months old Thanks x |
