KC is still eliminating outside his box from his UTI. I caught him peeing on my camping cot. He has been on his medication for 4 days & there isn't any improvement.
He is going back to the vet at 4:10 today so they can check his urine again. They may have to do an X-ray too. Sent from Petguide.com Free App

Thanks. I forgot to mention that his blood test results does show that his potassium his low & his one kidney is a little off. I hope these aren't signs of renal failure.

I am so stressed about this. I really thought that he was doing better. Especially, when I see him basking in the sun on his back in my dining room. That was only for a little bit & now he has been hiding in the basement underneath my husband's work bench. Sent from Petguide.com Free App

The vet couldn't find anything wrong with KC. She said that he still has a UTI but it has improved significantly since Monday. I have him I my master bathroom since I can't trust him not to pee anywhere else. She said to confine him through the weekend. She said it could be behavioral. I can't deal with a cat with behavioral issues again. I dealt with that 2 years ago & it was very stressful. Plus, I am running out of $ for vet bills. I have spent $2k since November.
She also gave me canned urinary tract health food. It is Purina UR. Sent from Petguide.com Free App

I would give it a few more days. It doesn't go away immediately. You should look into pet insurance after he gets better. It helps a lot in situations like this. I don't have insurance but I do have Care Credit. I pay it off at the beginning of each year with my tax return and it all starts over again. Last year I spent over 5k on my critters, between the dogs and the cats. It can be expensive but that's what being a pet owner entails. It's not always like the happy commercials on TV that show a blissful little world with no problems and a fluffy and loving kitty happily munching on 9-Lives cat food. Like people, they need to be kept healthy and for that to happen you need to invest. So far you're doing awesome! You're on the right track with keeping him healthy and happy. Have faith in yourself and have faith in him. You'll be so glad you did!

Well he refused to eat the Purina UR. He wouldn't even touch it after 30 min. So I picked it up and brought him EVO instead & he ate it right up.

just a heads up, EVO is pretty high in phosphorus, which isn't great for kidneys. if you have anything else, or don't have an entire case of that already, it might be better.
i don't blame him for not eating purina lol. |
