Black cat with bad dandruff

Yes, our precious Toby has pretty bad dandruff. I brush him thoroughly every couple of days, but that just brings more flakes up into his fur. It is now getting on our furniture. Does anyone know of a solution for this? Our Russian Blue never really had dandruff because of his double fur, but our Maine Coon mix certainly did. It is just so noticeable on a black cat with beautiful, shiny fur.

Our boy, Toby

Milo, Sasha and Misha, we miss you!

If you're only feeding dry food, start feeding canned. Also, salmon oil added to food will help.

What brand of wet food do you recommend?

My cat also has really bad dandruff, I started rubbing coconut oil into her fur and it really has helped.

Do you find that the coconut oil attracts a lot of dirt?

The canned food has already helped immensely. We feed him canned food in the morning and dry food in the evening. Thank you, Doodlebug!
